Supporting ACS

Asheville Catholic School has been truly blessed by the support of our entire community – our administrators, faculty, staff, parents, grandparents, alumni, our five Catholic parishes and their parishioners, and members of the community at large.  All have, in countless ways large and small, made a real difference for the children of ACS.  We are grateful for the generous gifts of time, talent and resources – financial and otherwise – that have sustained and advanced our school over the years.

We are always looking for news and updates from our ACS families and Alumni, please click here to tell us some of your news.
We invite you to join this tradition of gracious giving by exploring the many opportunities to make a difference at ACS:

Volunteering

Volunteers: We Need You!
Parents are asked to “donate a day” by volunteering at least 24 hours over the course of the school year.  This could be done by serving with a group such as our school board or our Shamrock Run Committee, volunteering to help distribute lunches, helping to plan and facilitate a school event, reading to a class, or helping a teacher in need.  No matter how you choose to offer your unique gifts and talents to ACS, we are thankful for you!

Fundraising Events

Shamrock Celebration
On the Saturday closest to St. Patrick’s Day, we hold our annual Shamrock Celebration.  Bright and early on Saturday morning, families and community members line up for the Shamrock Run.  Whether they run the 5K, 10K, or Fun Run, community members have a great time being together and supporting the school.  After going home for a few hours to rest from their morning run, our community gathers for the Shamrock Jubilee.  This evening event brings together faculty, staff, parents and other supporters of ACS for a fun evening complete with dancing, some St. Patrick’s Day refreshments, great food, and a silent and live auction.

Proceeds from the Shamrock Run go to benefit the O’Brien and William Edward Gibbs Memorial Scholarship Fund, which helps provide tuition assistance for ACS students in need.  The Shamrock Jubilee supports the general fund at ACS which provides for everything from technology to textbooks, and professional development to paper towels.

We are in the midst of a capital campaign to complete the six classroom addition on the south end of our building. This is the first campaign of its kind in the sixty-four year history of ACS. We have had tremendous success so far, but we still have a long way to go!

What have your donations done for ACS?

Your continued generosity has allowed us to fund numerous enhancements year after year. We have purchased chromebooks for each student, Smartboards for all the classrooms, Pre-K playground equipment, and a bus for our school. In addition, we are always updating our technology and textbooks.
Asheville Catholic School's mission is to inspire our students to change the world as Christian leaders.  With this end in mind, we accept all who are open to learning about how God guides us, through the teachings of Christ, to love Him above all, and love others as ourselves.  As part of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Charlotte, we welcome all with open arms.
