- The ACS After School Enrichment Program follows the ACS calendar. Please check your calendar for details.
- If ACS is closed because of inclement weather, ASEP will not operate.
- Please call ACS at 252-7896 (before noon) if there is to be a change in your child’s schedule for that day.
- If inclement weather approaches during the hours of ASEP operation, ASEP will close down at the discretion of the
- ASEP Coordinators/ACS Principal. Parents will be called and will be required to promptly pick up their children.
- Children enrolled in an ACS extracurricular activity (i.e. basketball, drama, etc.) will be escorted to and from ASEP.
Pick-Up
Parents are required to sign their child/children out daily. The staff must be notified in advance in writing if someone other than the parents or authorized person on the registration form will be picking up a child. No child will be allowed to walk home alone or leave with someone not authorized by the parent on the registration form. In case of last minute (emergency) child pickup arrangement, please call the school before ASEP hours or call the SEY house directly after 3:30.
Late Pick-Up
Parents will be assessed a $1.00 fee for every minute late beyond closing time. This fee will be payable by check to ACS-ASEP to the staff member who is with your child when you arrive. After the THIRD late pickup, a child may be expelled from the program with a two-week grace period to find alternative care. If your child has not been picked up by 6:15 and notification has not been given, one of the emergency number persons will be contacted to pick up your child. Once your child has been picked up by the emergency number person, a sign will be left on the SEY House door telling the name of the person who picked up your child and the After School worker will leave.
Conduct & Discipline
The goal of this program is to establish an atmosphere in which all children will enjoy participation in the activities. If a child’s behavior becomes a problem, privileges within the program will be taken away. Suspension or expulsion will be an option if behavior does not improve. If your child is acting extremely inappropriately or endangering other children, you may be called and asked to remove your child from the program that day with a suspension from the program. This is done at the discretion of the Coordinators.
The program expects that the child/children will:
- Remain with the group and staff at all times.
- Be responsible for his/her actions.
- Take care of materials and equipment properly and return them to their proper location when finished.
- Arrive at the program promptly and orderly.
- Remain quiet when a staff member is giving instructions.
Methods of Discipline
- Separation from the group activities (time out), withholding privileges, and service time (chores, etc.)
- Parent/Staff conferences
- Suspension/Expulsion
Grievance Policy\Communication
We welcome any questions and suggestions and will strive to build an open line of communication between parents and staff. If you have a concern or problem please let us know. If needed, a conference can be scheduled.
