At Asheville Catholic School, we believe in cultivating a supportive school community which recognizes the dignity, needs and diversity of all individuals. We also believe in building a sense of community beyond the walls of our school through outreach and service to others.
From Pre-K through eighth grade, there is a strong emphasis on service to others in our community. Activities include food collection for the Catholic Charities Food Pantry, Thanksgiving baskets, and special Advent and Lenten projects. In addition, each class volunteers on a specific project through the ACS Outreach Program. Learn more about class-specific community outreach projects here.
Student Mentoring Program
At Asheville Catholic School, the youngest and the oldest learn from each other thanks to innovative pairings of students in our “Big Friends” program. By matching upper grade students with younger students, little ones receive encouragement and assistance from positive role models, while older students learn about nurturing and responsibility. This program fosters a sense of community for all students.
